SO, WHAT IS LORD BROWNS?
In truth, it’s what happens when an obsession with beautiful seating goes largely undetected — and very quickly takes on a life of its own!
What started as a simple pastime — picking up the odd piece when the opportunity arose, selling a few when necessary, and making a bit of ‘pin money’ to support a long‑held ambition to become the best golfer in the world — somehow grew into something far more special.

The best thing that ever happened to me. Not only did she instantly make me better in every way (although, sadly, no better at golf), she proved to be an extraordinary partner in life — and in business
Together, we discovered we had a knack for finding, curating, and selling beautiful second‑hand designer and vintage pieces. So much so that I sold my golf clubs, bought another sofa, and, somehow, found myself at the helm of one of the premier destinations for fine pre‑loved seating and occasional furniture.
Today, you’ll find us in Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley, surrounded by an ever‑changing mix of curated finds — from iconic design pieces to timeless antiques. Our focus is simple: to offer beautiful, character‑filled pieces that deserve a second chapter, backed by a level of personal service that goes far beyond the transaction.

You’ll find me at the end of every Lord Browns phone call and Helen behind the scenes, making sure every ‘t’ is crossed and every ‘i’ dotted, from digital media to bookkeeping. Together, we’re passionate about making your experience with Lord Browns Furniture a genuinely rewarding one.
Outside of the business, we’re proud (and exhausted!) parents to three young sons — each on their own mission to play as much sport as humanly possible — and a very long sausage dog, who helps keep the chaos well and truly alive. Between the four of them, any hobby we ever had has been replaced, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
