On offer on this occasion is the rarest of the rare (in fact, in this case it is entirely-unique), with the piece in question being the quite-remarkable “Udder” oversized-armchair and footstool, painstakingly hand-crocheted in soft-red and pale-pink cotton-yarn by Jordyn Rachel Gardiner (from her 2021 “Uddercomforts” collection) which i acquired from the 2023 “New Contemporaries” exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.
As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this listing for this exceptional piece of art, such one-off pieces as this are unlike any other piece of furniture design you can buy and, comprising of entirely-repurposed materials (from the armchair and stool which forms their skeleton, to the foam and polyfill which creates their unique appearance and aesthetic) possesses levels of quality, expertise, commitment, inspiration and execution the likes of which you rarely-see.
Having seen my fair-share of interesting pieces of seating across my career, my goodness, Jordyn really did create something genuinely-remarkable here.
In a world of temporary pleasures, this sensational armchair and stool has clearly been designed, specified and built to make an immediate and lasting impact, and to have quality and beauty in abundance. Honestly, it could not be more-impressive.
This piece is also in superb, immaculately-maintained condition, showing only the no signs of use whatsoever, consistent with the fact that (to my knowledge) it was only ever exhibited at the RSA, and is entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Its terrific order reflects the TLC and considerate-handling afforded it in the past and, in my experience, is as well-presented as you could possibly hope to find.

A good seller with access to exceptionally high quality furniture wiling to negotiate mutually beneficial arrangements on their stock. I must say I was disappointed on delivery, as I was left three weeks with no messages or notifications. However when delivery was scheduled it was attended by two individuals who delivered to a third floor without quibble. Furthermore, this is luxury furniture at a discount, so in the round, a positive experience, and I both recommend and would buy again .
